Dear John Edwards,

I supported your candidacy enthusiastically. You seemed to be the only candidate who recognized the threat that corporations posed to our Republic. But I see reports that you are weighing the notion of endorsing Hillary Clinton. This seems to reveal to me a politician, not a statesman. If this report has any truth to it, I'm relieved you dropped out before super Tuesday, when I might have voted for you with the belief that you were sincere.

The time is long past that we drum these DLC mugwumps from our party! To return to the ideals of FDR and the support of our core constituencies: Labor, Civil Rights, Equality and the Environment.

Perhaps my understanding of the news article was incorrect. Perhaps you really were a genuine progressive, in which case I sincerely apologize. If we are to save this nation from the tightening grips of an Orwellian-Fascist tyranny, we need leaders NOW who can wake up and motivate the populace. I was conviced it was you. Please show me my faith was not misplaced.
