Impeach Bush:

The man was lost and then he was found and now he's more lost than ever -- and he's taking us into the darkness with him. It's time to remove him. -- Garrison Keillor 3.01.06

Gestapo interrogation methods included: repeated near drownings of a prisoner in a bathtub. -- The History Place

I fear we are now seeing the other side of the coin with Bush. His lack of historical perspective, his crusading religiousness, his Texas-style shoot-first-ask-questions-later approach to complex problems - that is, all the shortcomings that were obvious from the beginning of his presidency - seem to be catching up with him now. It's one thing to be a decisive leader. It is quite another to be consistently making the wrong decisions. -- James Klurfeld, 3.03.06

There is no doubt that constitutional freedoms will never be abolished in one fell swoop, for the American people cherish their freedoms, and would not tolerate such a loss if they could perceive it. But the erosion of freedom rarely comes as an all-out frontal assault but rather as a gradual, noxious creeping, cloaked in secrecy, and glossed over by reassurances of greater security. -- Senator Robert Byrd 3.03.06

The public is way ahead of what’s going on in Washington. They no longer believe it. The troops themselves, 70 percent of the troops said we want to come home within a year. The only solution to this is to redeploy. Let me tell you, the only people who want us in Iraq is Iran and al-Qaeda. I’ve talked to a top-level commander the other day, it was about two weeks ago, and he said China wants us there also. Why? Because we’re depleting our resources, our troop resources and our fiscal resources. Representative John Murtha 3/05/06

This administration, from President George W. Bush to Vice President Dick Cheney to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, has sowed the seeds of a bitter harvest in the Middle East that Americans will reap for decades, if not generations. -- Joseph L. Galloway 3.04.06

‘Capote’ and ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ [are] both films about determined journalists defying obstacles in a relentless pursuit of truth. Needless to say, both are period pieces. -- John Stewart at the Oscars
